René Magritte 1898 - 1967
René Magritte, the master of the playful paradox. His iconic apple from ‘The Son of Man’, ripe with symbolism, has found its way into my painting called ‘Fruitful Reflection’. This influence isn’t a direct copy, but a subtle echo, an inspiration to me in this piece.
In my painting, the apples perched on the woman's head are a playful nod to one of my artistic heroes. They're both a symbol of new beginnings for me and a reminder of the forbidden fruit, beware!
Magritte's apple isn’t just a fruit; it’s an enigma, hiding the face, questioning reality. I truly adore Magritte's games with perception, his dreamlike imagery sparks my imagination and curiosity.
As an admiring artist, I love his sharp lines and clear forms, it draws me in, and I find his work quite comforting.
For me, Magritte is the master of surrealism, his ability to weave complex questions into ‘deceptively’ simple imagery, it’s unparalleled.
…To be forever cherished..
